This Canon ultrawide Zoom lens offers an excellent cost-performance ratio for those who don't always required true professional grade of built quality and, arguably on par performance at maximum apertures like the f/2.8L in image resolution.

Although I don't consider it quite as good optically as the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM Lens or the Canon EF 17-40mm L USM Lens, the Canon EF 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens performs reasonably well.

The lens is capable to deliver a very high resolution which surely originates in the rather conservative zoom ratio. However, at the wide-end it suffers from very pronounced residual aberrations so you may run into situations where you cannot exploit the potential of the lens.
